THE DEFINITIVE BAND THAT ROCKED THE CHARTS IN THE 90'S AND SUNG US THROUGH THE WORLD CUP CAME TO THE BOAT AND WOWED THE CROWD WITH THEIR NEW, MORE FOLK ORIENTED BUT JUST AS INSPIRING ACOUSTIC SET, VIVA LA EVOLUTION.
COINCIDING WITH THE 200TH ANNIVERSARY OF SALOPS' OWN, DARWIN, THE VIVA LA EVOLUTION TOUR WAS A WINNER HERE IN JACKFIELD, SHROPSHIRE. THE WEATHER WAS GREAT AND THE ATMOSPHERE ELECTRIC AS FANS CHEERED AND CLAPPED TO EVERY SONG AND EVERY CONVERSATIONAL INTERLUDE THAT BROUGHT THE CROWD AND THEIR SEATS EVER NEARER TO THE STAGE AND TO THIS STILL AMAZING GROUP OF MUSICIANS. THE GREAT FOLK GROUP,CUCKOO OAK, BRINGING WITH THEM A FIRM FAN BASE HAD A TERRIFIC SET AS ALWAYS. FILLED WITH HUMOUR, AMAZING MELODIES, A COPELLA AND INSTRUMENTAL, IT WAS A RARE TREAT FOR US TO SEE THIS LOCAL BAND ON AN OUTDOOR STAGE LOCALLY, FILLING THE JACKFIELD NIGHT AIR WITH GORGEOUS VOICES, GORGEOUS MUSIC. World War II Re-enactment weekend held at The Boat Inn will be on Sat/Sun September 26th and 27th 2009. The village comes alive with 1940's Dress-up! Great adventure and Live Music befitting the WWII era. Wartime menu usually consisting of Corned Beef Hash, Bubble & Squeak and Spam Fritter Rolls! Tattie Jam will be here performing in conjunction with our very own Irish Night Musicians on Thursday 18th November 2010 at 9pm. The Celtic Duo are travelling through from Scotland, they have an album out and they sound like a lot of musical fun, hope you can be here to share in this highly anticipated Celtic Music jamm!
