The Boat has many stories of other worldy happenings passed down from Landlords to patrons over the many years it has been used as an Ale House. We have our own stories to tell but must start by saying that what is here with us is of a blessing rather than a major concern. From pranks to helpful signs and direction??? It's never a dull moment here.
Although The Boat Inn is considered to be a Victorian era pub, iti elements actually date back much farther.
Circa 1740 would put it in the Georgian era but a fireplace and timbers within the structure date back to the the time of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, amazing really for a building with no foundations as such!
